yes, and if you care enough to ask about it you care. it's what orients us in the world and allows us to grow beyond our own skulls. life is learning to care about the ones who are right and discarding the ones who are wrong.

Professionally? Sure, because reputation can matter and get you places.
Friends and Family? Sure, because I strive not to be a good father, son, husband, & friend.
Random person? Probably not as much, but I do still care. If everyone cared about how they're perceived, the world would be a much better place.

Back side of 50 now, and IDGAF what just about anyone thinks of me. Maybe wife and kids. Otherwise, everyone else is free to frick right off.
Work: I show up on time and do my job. Got seniority and it’s a union job. It would take a serious frickup to get kicked out of there. Still take pride in my craft, but my tolerance for petty management has never been lower.
