Xi is just doing this for optics. Deep down he doesn't give a shite talking with the Biden administration. Blinken is wasting his time.

China will not invade Taiwan, IMO. Taiwan, in the end unite with China, mainly because they will get feed up with the USA and West warmongering and kick them out. Thanks...

They may be reacting to a growing likelihood of another Trump presidency. Now or never scenario. Given all the CCP military ops that have crossed our Border and our dependence on the Chip manufacturing sector in Taiwan, if China can walk in while the US is essentially out of bullets, why wouldn’t they go now. Instead of waiting for Trump to close the loopholes. Such an invasion cannot be a ‘black swan’ event that can help Biden as it would likely be the final nail in his political coffin.

Either way, they have leverage. Another win for Biden ensures weakness while a Trump win comes with a total purging of military leadership.
