I said last night in a post, I thought it was a Home Run if it hits the yellow stripe and the next poster said, absolutely not. Now you are saying the same thing. Does anyone know the actual rule about a ball hitting the yellow stripe?

It’s probably covered in the ground rules for the stadium. But it would probably be something like if it hits above the yellow line and bounces out it’s a home run.

I couldn’t find a listing of the ground rules. This is the only thing I’ve found about outfield padding (for those couple of games in 2014 where the ball got stuck under the pads).

Seriously though, is it really necessary to escort a 12 year old kid out of the stadium?

You guys seem hellbent on saying it was impossible to do, but it sure looks otherwise,

Does it? This picture is worse than the video, if that’s even possible. Review is supposed to show, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the on-field call should be overturned. I’m just not seeing it and I initially thought the kid interfered. (Yes..he may have…but this picture doesn’t come close to confirming that)

Thanks for clearing up it up for us. I hate it for the little boy, because he was just doing what 99% of us would have done also. If he's there tonight, I hope he catches it this time! Thanks for info!

This is why I hate most LSU Fans...the ball clearly hit the kids glove. Yet they bitch like it didn't...if the opposite happened they would be all for the ruling. Don't let your emotions for your team make you look stupid!

The only thing about that call that was clear with 100% certainty is that they didn’t have enough evidence to overturn the play. I honestly don’t even think it’s 50/50. There’s certainly no shot of the ball hitting his glove so best case you have is to say the trajectory of the ball clearly changed. If you can tell that by some extremely pixilated pics then I envy your eye sight.

Maybe somebody tonight takes a photo between innings reaching out. Give us a nylon style view down the fence line.

That will prove one side wrong.

End note it's a stupid rule and I feel for the kid.

How far back is the fence from the wall? In that shot, his forearm is on the fence, so the tip of his glove can't be more than 18 inches over, probably closer to 12.

This is correct. I'm sitting in section 127 right now and the chainlink fence is about 12" from the wall. It's easily reachable

It's not alright to escort a kid on the spectrum out of the stadium for a shite call. Period. GFYS

I never said it was frick face. Al I'm saying is that clearly it's possible to reach the field of play from behind the chainlink fence. The only one on the spectrum is you a-hole

The kid probably needs a father figure. I nominate you.
