Yeah, I didn't see that coming either.

JT was at Low A hitting .233/.400/.465 over 43 ABs with 11 Rs, 11 RBIs, and 2 HRs...and 10 walks vs 16 SOs
He's now at High A hitting .250/.444/.400 over 20 ABs with 5 Rs, 2 RBIs, and 0 HRs...and 4 walks vs 4 SOs.

Tre should be promoted soon too.
He's still at Low A hitting .304/.392/.478 over 69 ABs with 14 Rs, 5 RBIs, 2 HRs, 7 SBs...and 9 walks with 10 SOs

Morgan's promotion hinges on either current top 1B prospect Xavier Isaac getting promoted from High A to AA, but he's not exactly killing it, or the other 1B getting promoted. Random other guy is sucking. So perhaps we see Tre and random suck guy swap out. From there, Tre could show his defensive prowess and makes everyone wonder who the hell Xavier Isaac is.

Anybody want to claim they thought JT would be LSU's first minor league promotion this year?

FWIW, I picked those guys because they were both at the same level. Not fair to compare them to Crews and Skenes. But even if we did, would you have bet JT gets promoted before Skenes (from AAA to MLB) or Crews (from AA to AAA)?

Thompson started the season at High A and was sent to Low A. Was he promoted today? Because he was in Low A yesterday.

Professional baseball doesn’t pay their first basemen for their defensive prowess. Tre is going to have to hit some home runs to stay at first base.

Some of the worst shite I’ve ever seen directed towards a player happened last year with Thompson. The kid has talent. People said he wouldn’t get drafted but he did. I’m happy for him. From all accounts he is a great kid and was a great teammate.

I’ve always thought about this transition for the players. Going from the best of the best in facilities, crowd, transportation, etc., to playing in a low league. It’s their love of the game and aspirations I guess. Have to admire it.

Looks like I brain farted. Thought he started at Rancho Cucamonga. His play was solid.

Jordan Thompson has always been an elite prospect, some people just can’t appreciate that

Yea and JT has been making MLB caliber plays at SS for years. He just struggled with the routine play sometimes. Not super surprising

That’s okay, I’m hoping to catch a Riverdogs game and see Tre.

I love both but Tre played an athletic but unorthodox 1st base. He has defensive ‘happy feet’ and ‘spin around’ hitches in his swing. He’s got to fix all that and he certainly isn’t a MLB infielder. He’s an outfielder.
