Simply asking doesn’t do it. There’s more nuance to it than that.

God understands we are flawed and all commit sin. God knows your heart, you cannot manipulate him or lie to him. For forgiveness to occur, you must truly regret your sin, admit your sin, and seek to improve yourself. Asking forgiveness every time you frick up while never trying to improve your behavior and be a better person won’t yield the forgiveness you seek because you don’t really mean it. You just want to do whatever on earth while feeling like you’re punching your ticket to everlasting life.
