Did blue iguana. Good but I cannot get into moles.
We tried them all. I’m a hot food nut and that has been challenging here.

No disagreement on that aspect of it. California’s natural beauty is unparalleled.
Unfortunately none of those areas are shielded/immune from the extreme left progressive political policies which are serving to drive away the middle class.

As for myself, several times over the years/decades from San Diego along up the coast and as far north and then inward to Chico.
For most of my life it was always the state I ultimately aspired to settle permanently but life worked out a different path.

Hottest food in the area is chicken. They have Houston Hot Chicken (which is from Vegas and not Houston) and they go up to 2million scofields. Then there is Pretty Bird downtown.
Best selection of hot sauce is Grove Market and Deli which is somewhere around 1800 south Main street. They have a HUGE selection of hot sauce as well as the very best tuna sandwich I have ever had. The thing is huge and is only $10.

Admittedly I have not been in about 8 years. Still have family in SF and L.A. for some strange reason.

That IS California. That's the bulk of the population, that's the economy, that's the politics, that's the social mindset and that's the sum of the problems that are driving population out of the state in record numbers.
It's a beautiful state, but it's not the only one. There are plenty of nice people who live there, but there are nice people everywhere. The problems California does have are large, rapidly spreading and driving those problems into other states where people don't want them.

I'm going to keep reminding you guys that the state is so much more than the coast. There is a mindset from people outside of the state that California is just the coast. My backdrop is the Sierra Nevadas. I can see the Coastal Range too. I can be in Yosemite in an hour. I've got fishing, white water rapids, hunting.. all manner of outdoor activities in my backyard and we vote red. You have to get outside of the LA & Bay Area bubbles to see what the state really is. Once you do that you'll have a very different impression. Otherwise you've been manipulated by Hollywood and marketing efforts. Not all coastal areas are these liberal enclaves that get forced down your throats. But that is what is promoted.
Watch this video. We go here every year and it's not quite 90 minutes away. We can ski here too. It's absolutely amazing and a total getaway from the city. Come and see the real California. Skip the tourist traps.
