0-5 on DL? This is not the alignment I signed up for

How do you bring in the best DL coach in the game and it does absolutely nothing for you in recruiting?

Because this isn't recruiting.

It's a public auction.

Because any big name portal DL player is looking for the biggest payday, right or wrong, that's the way it is right now.

Where did the myth that Bo Davis is a rainmaker recruiter come from? He wasn't at Texas. He landed some good ones at Alabama but any swinging dick could land highly rated players at Bama during the peak Saban years. I am not criticizing Bo here, I just think people had preconceived notions that weren't realistic. The good news is that he is the best developer at the position in the country and he will still be able to land top DL from Louisiana, which there should be several of in the coming years. I also think we're going to save some serious NIL money through his ability to develop guys.

Yes, we really could've used Williams but paying a million dollars for an above average DT is retarded. That's money that can be used to sign a top 3 class in the country in 2025. I don't foresee OU getting a nice return on that investment

Further proof that kids in the TP don’t care about winning NC’s or being coached by one of the best DL coaches who will develop them for the NFL, These kids are strictly chasing the highest bag of money. Most are only playing for 1 year. Their rationale is …. OU $750,000 > LSU $300,000. (my numbers are guesstimates to prove a point)
