Truth be told, take away what was already here and what we bought last year, Johnson’s talent evaluation in 3 years has proven to be garbage.

Except this isn't really the truth.

4 sec football teams won titles in a 6 year stretch. Do you judge Kentucky football coaches by winning a title or not?

Florida 2006 national champs
LSU 2007 national champs
Alabama2009 national champs
Auburn 2010 national champs

4 separate football teams won national titles in that stretch. Exact same as baseball as you mentioned.

So you said that’s how you judge sec baseball coaches now. So, I asked, do you also judge the Kentucky football coach by the ability to win a national title there, since that’s how you judge the Tennessee baseball coach

For reference

But 4 different SEC teams have won the CWS over the last 5 years and none of them have been Tennessee Win a chip & I’ll call him elite

I don’t need to see Jay 6 years to see he surpassed Tony.

Dave Serrano relied too heavily on the west coast and had a bad program culture.

And this is why JJ needs to make some serious changes.

Trying to recruit California before the SECN and the influx of football money was different than it is now.

Right now, the SEC is generally getting whoever they want from wherever they want. Back then, a lot of the best players in California were still going to Big West state schools.

We won a CWS with major contributions from 3 pitchers and a shortstop from California. Ole Miss won a championship with a California shortstop.

Right now Tennessee has two starting infielders from California.

If you're talking about the other half of my sentence, whatever.

Has he won a natty? Has any of his players gone 1&2 in the draft?

Don’t forget we played them very close with an all new team from last year.

I wouldn’t say last year his team was one of the better lineups. They didn’t hit for average and depended on the long ball which bit them in the arse once they got to Omaha and played on an actual field.

This year they are hitting for average as well as power. They just don’t have the arms to compete imo. But who knows. That’s why they play the games. Their average will always be inflated a little bit bc some of those HRs (not all) would be outs at most other stadiums. Regardless, as much as I hate to say it, they have as much of a shot as anyone. They all look like pricks which must be a prerequisite and there isn’t a more despised fan base, so here’s to hoping they get bounced in their regional.

No one will admit it but Vitello is a much better coach than Jay. Vitello has had sustained success for the last 4-5 years. Jay obviously won a chip with mostly Pauls players. Now look at Jay ... Cant even win half his conference games

Well Tony managed to not even make Omaha with what many consider (mainly Tennessee fans), to be the best team of all time. So if we are judging based off choking skills, then there might be an argument there.

Tell me about how Paul recruited Skenes, White, Cooper, Ackenhausen, and Hurd.
