Its not true, they can be. It just has an effect on the splitting of electoral votes.
Its easily gotten around with Trump "moving" his residence to NY or NJ.
But not really worth the hassle.

Yes, that is why I wrote they both can't be registered in Florida. Bush and Cheney were both registered in Texas. Cheney moved his registration to Wyoming.
