Dan Schneider Sues ‘Quiet On Set’ Producers For Defamation

The famed TV producer just filed a defamation lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, slamming the docuseries and its creators -- including Warner Bros. Discovery, Maxine Productions, Sony Pictures Television and others -- for falsely implying he sexually abused the child actors who worked on his shows back in the day.
Dan's lawyers don't mince words ... blasting "Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV" as a "hit job." As you know, Dan created "The Amanda Show," "Drake & Josh," "Zoey 101," "iCarly" and "Victorious" during his tenure at Nickelodeon ... and in 'QOS,' he was the main focus.
Dan's lawsuit alleges the docuseries used manipulative editing techniques to create a false impression of Schneider. The suit claims the defendants tried to lump Schneider into the same bucket as 2 other convicted child sex offenders who worked on some of the Nickelodeon shows. He says the defendants did it all for "clickbait, ratings, and views -- or simply put, money."
As his lawyers put it, "Schneider had no knowledge of their abuse, was not complicit in the abuse, condemned the abuse once it was discovered and, critically, was not a child sexual abuser himself."
Dan goes on to claim 'QOS' used misleading statements and editing techniques in the trailer and several episodes to falsely create the impression he was a pedophile.

That whole series was odd. Schneider is a weirdo and an a-hole no doubt, but the way the documentary tried to lump him in with actual child abusers was odd and over the top.
ETA: That somewhat undermined the message entirely, as it came across as nothing more than a WB hit piece on Paramount.

I thought the exact same thing when I watched it. They really went in on him hard, and he wasn't even the molester.

No it wasn’t. Dan is the lead pedo. This story hasn’t just come to light. They just shined the light on it. Good luck to Dan he doesn’t have a shot.

Then they forgot to include any of that in the documentary. Putting thinly veiled adult jokes into kids shows is weird, but its not pedophilia or abuse.
Again, he's a complete a-hole, but nothing in the show indicates that he harmed any of those kids physically.

Agreed. He seemed more of an a-hole and misogynist and never a pedo. But they definitely portray it in a muddy manner. The real issue is did Dan know about any of it at the time like Paterno at Penn state?

The thread and lawsuit are about the documentary. If they had information or evidence that Schneider did any of those things, where was that?

Bold move if he's the lead pedo. Discovery will not be kind to him. And a subpoena can override an NDA.

If nothing else, this opens the issue up for discovery/ witness testimony in court. If he was an abuser, this is probably the best chance of exposing it. Truth is a defense to defamation.

Plus, an NDA cannot protect sexual abuse in any event. Weird that they didn't present information on Schneider himself in a documentary clearly targeted at him specifically if they had/have it.

Right. Like I said, he's a weirdo and a creep that shouldn't be working with kids.
That's still on a much lower tier than being an actual abuser of children, no? If WB had the goods on him, that was the perfect opportunity to put it out there. Instead, they tried to equate sexual innuendo in kids' TV scripts and generally being a toxic a-hole with guys that literally molested and abused children.
