Just curious do you not live in sin? Or does it only count if it’s that way?

There’s sin, and then there’s living in sin, and then there’s encouraging sin.

What changes the UMC made amounts to encouraging and condoning sin by denying it is sin. The changes aren’t saying “we know this is sin but it’s okay, come to church we accept all”. The changes are saying “being gay isn’t a sin, all human sexuality is to be celebrated”

Being a sinner and living in sin are two separate things. Conviction over one's sin and the need and desire and steps to thwart off temptation is one sign of the Spirit. I can wholly see how someone living and proudly proclaiming their sin as their unique quality as being something that many believers would struggle with.
