The city is happening, the school system likely has a lot of litigation in its future. If I were betting, 3-5 years before the school system is established, if it doesn’t get killed in the courts.

It has already happened in the eyes of the law. Now they have to build out the infrastructure. That’ll take a while to sort out.

What needs to happen is that there is 5 years of revenue that needs to be accounted for. If not, a lawsuit for back pay should be in order is how I feel.. However, the law may be different but that’s a lot of money at stake and could jump start the new city with funding in several projects.

as i understand it, its a done deal, its settled

now they are in the process of starting up the St. George services they need and there will be court fights about refunding taxes stolen from St. George during this whole ordeal

Got to love the national headlines

It has happened. They followed the law and the lawsuit that was holding it up is now over. It’s a city.

Both have been dismissed from the case for a lack of standing.

Unless they can explain why they have standing, it would be a very short hearing.

They can’t legally have a city but not legally have a school system

Woo-Hoo, I became wealthy and a resident of a new city without lifting a finger.

City services were provided and/or available to every man, woman’s and school age child in the proposed boundaries. There are no grounds for “refunding stolen taxes”. It’s in the past.

It’s a very slow process from now to finally having a mayor and board to run the city. I think Landry will appoint a mayor and board for the city and then from there move forward

My parents were provided BRPD coverage of their St George neighborhood that they were paying for?

Do you honestly think repeating these obvious lies will stop what's coming?

This won't be decided by a public vote, it's going to court. After it winds its way through the fraudulent legal system that insulates Baton Rouge politicians from their malfeasance, it will eventually go to a court that follows the law. Then Baton Rouge will pay the taxes that they legally should have been setting aside the day the vote was won.

You can't stop what's coming.

Unfortunately by the time this happens Broome and her piece of shite cronies will have robbed BR blind and taken off into the sunset.

I’m glad I now at least have some separation from them and the ilk that puts them in office.
