I see and interact with young conservatives pretty frequently and, by and large, they are very comfortable in their skin and with their opinions.
In general, they are better educated than their peers, often homeschooled or private schooled, very secure in their opinions, able to play the game (such as the game on liberal college campuses) so they can achieve their goals, very articulate and armed with logical, informed arguments and less and less willing to take any bs.
They choose their friends carefully and vet them to insure they share a similar philosophy. Demographics is much less important to them as long as the peers share their conservative values and outlook.
