Man, ain’t that the truth. I would have loved to see what RVZ could have done as well. I had heard that he possibly was going to pursue a solo career as a country artist, which I think would have fit him perfectly.

I’m by no means slandering him, but I heard this baw was sort of a control freak/authoritarian as far as the band went. It would have been good to see if he was able to make it solo. That is a question for the wind.

The ultimate "what if" to me. There was so much talent in that band and they had a massive future ahead of them.

Ronnie had cleaned up his act a bit by the time Gaines joined the band … “That Smell” was a message on one level to Gary Rossington who hadn’t .., and he was so impressed by Gaines’ talent that he brought him into his orbit as a collaborator in a way that he never did with the others. That’s the saddest what if, what they might have produced.
