One of my all time favorite bands is Lynyrd Skynyrd. I’ve been listening to them since I was a kid. One thing I’ve felt strongly about for awhile is that we missed out on so much great music that could have been made due to the tragedy of the plane crash. One of the members that died, Steve Gaines, was such an exceptional talent. Man, this guy could sing and play guitar with the best of them. We only got to have one album with Steve playing with Skynyrd, but what a showcase that album was for him. I only wonder what could have been. He could have been mentioned with the all-time greats. RIP Steve Gaines. Check out these tunes from Street Survivors where Steve really shines.

He was incredibly talented and gone too soon. That crash changed things bigly in the “what could have been” category.

Agreed. IMO, the most talented of the LS guitarist. Vocally gifted as well. His solo stuff is really good.
