Louisiana leaders held a news conference Monday to announce a lawsuit against the Biden administration's new Title IX regulations.
Title IX protects people from discrimination in an educational setting.
Biden's new laws, which go into effect Aug. 1, would expand protections for LGBTQ+ and pregnant students, overhauling Trump-era guidance.
Gov. Jeff Landry joined Attorney General Liz Murrill and State Superintendent Cade Brumley at the State Capitol to announce the lawsuit.

Attorney General Murrill announced that Louisiana has joined Montana, Idaho, and Mississippi in the lawsuit, claiming that the rules are overreach by the federal government and that the new guidance "eviscerates Title IX."
Murrill said the regulations prohibit single-sex bathrooms and locker rooms and said it could lead boys and girls of the opposite sex to use the same bathrooms.
She added that the regulations heavily apply to athletics and is in direct opposition to Louisiana's Fairness in Women's Sports law.

Did these new regs finally institute Due Process requirements in Title 9 investigations on campus? Yes or no?
