I think protesting is stupid but it shouldn't be cracked down on unless they're interfering with another's property/person, etc.

Trespassing and harassment =/= Peaceful protesting and speech.

Your TDS is assuming he meant peaceful protests and speech.
Anyone without TDS knows the difference.

There’s a difference between free speech and shutting down an interstate

It's a typical Trump comment to get himself into the middle of an issue and rile people up without actually saying anything

Get everyone worked up, his side will clarify he didn't mean physically stopping peaceful protests, etc. etc.

Protesting is a core constitutional right and is legal until it crosses into criminal activity such as trespassing, violence, vandalism, etc... Simply saying mean things, even if they are anti-semitic, or calls to violence should not be illegal if they don't turn into violence or other criminal activity.

What does illegally setting up lunatic camps on college campuses have to do with speech?

Students have a *limited* right to protest on campus, but they have no right to set up a "liberation zone" and impede others' movement through it.

Not sure if these rights differ according to whether the university is public/private (I don't think they do).

Which protests is he speaking of?

The ones where students and off campus activists are taking over university halls?

Stopping traffic and withholding access to public facilities that provide vital services to others isn't free speech.

Next question.

There's some false equivalency going on here. Many of these protests have either become violent or have sought to intimidate Jewish students. Protests centering on law, policy, or ideas are one thing. Targeting people for their immutable characteristics is quite another.

Protest should be allowed to continue in designated areas, if they are peaceful and no other students are stopped from attending classes by intimidation

I love it. Can Biden go out and tell people to stop protesting like Trump? Nope. He’ll look weak.
