I have a couple trays similar to the bottom pic of the OP's post.
They work great for stuff like green beans, asparagus, okra, etc. that can slip through the grates.
I did a dozen kebabs last night and didn't lose anything since all the stuff was skewered, although the end vegetables did try to slip away a few times as they got cooked.
