Drizzt- do you just cancel and/or downgrade when your yearly renewal comes up?

Some I keep if I like the perks like Amex Platinum. The Centurion Club access is great if you fly often, great travel insurance, and you get $400 a year credit for Dell plus other credits. Others I have canceled (Air Canada and Alaska Air) after I got the points. You never want to just cancel since you lose the credit. Call in and ask Chase or BOA to transfer your credit line to another one of their cards you are keeping then close the card. This lets you move credit to other cards you want to open in the future.
