I disagree completely. You will probably find similar steaks, sides, drinks, etc. but you will not find a better dining experience than Halls. The customer service is exquisite, the table service is the best and the follow up is unbelievable. Right down to the handwritten thank you note from your waiter when you get back home.
I worked in steakhouses for 13 years, eaten at many and have been to New Orleans best places and the experience at Halls Charleston location beats them all.
Will be there a week from tonight and cannot wait.

Oak is the better steakhouse downtown, but Halls has the best service you will ever encounter. Totally off base. They’ve opened one in Greenville I believe, but definitely not a “chain”.
I will say, sometimes Billy Hall is a bit zoinked on blow that he comes and asks how you’re doing too much
