re: Anyone move their parents in?

My family consolidated over 20 years ago in order to take care of my grandfather. Moving to another state was difficult for him. I decided to keep my parents in their own home no matter what. After my grandfather died I stayed to look after my parents. They are in their early 80s and still do a lot for themselves but need help often enough that maintaining a separate residence is not practical. Most older people cherish their independence so that may be why yours are reluctant.
