We designed this house when we rebuilt if from a decrepit 100 + year old farm house to something more comfortable with 36" wide doors and minimal stairs.
We've been able to have family who have a son totally dependent on his wheelchair come out several times to give them a break (we even have a very large bathroom which was langniappe, not planned for what we called "our old fart house" but turns out to be a necessity for their family to come out.
My parents were long dead, and my husband's parents had assorted mental problems on top of different dementias. That would have required totally different designs.
