I finished the tutorial/academy. Anyone else having trouble getting used to having to use the left stick to both move and aim?

Example: ball is incoming, then moving your player towards the back right of the baseline to field the shot (down and right on the left stick) and then having immediately having to point the left stick up and to the left to aim the ball to the opposite corner of the court, all while trying to time the shot meter. It feels as if when I'm pointing the left stick to aim the shot that it is going to mess with my player movement. It's probably all mental

Yea, it's tricky but with practice, you'll get it.

Hard to explain but at some point even before you start the shot and get to the location you want, your guy is basically locked in to the shot, if that makes sense... and from there you can then focus on the location you want to aim for.

If you hold the left stick after you start your swing and before you hit the ball can move you out of optimal position. This seems more apparent when pushing up for a deep shot. Though the behavior isn't consistent. Sometimes once you start holding the swing button, you are locked in place. Other times I've seen the player move.

The direction of the left stick only directs the ball at the time that you release the swing button.

So once you start holding the swing button, you can let the left stick go back to neutral. Then move it to the direction you want right before you release the swing button.
