Which is why such a change was feasible to begin with.
City of BR offers no services to StG.
The parish offers most services to StG and they are not leaving the parish.
Water, gas, and a number of other utilities are all private rather than municipal.
Policing is handled by EBRPSO
Fire is handled by St George FD and Eastside FD.
StG, OTOH, was having tens of millions swept into the general fund to pay BR’a bills such as BRPD and BRFD’s budget for areas that they don’t service.
