The EBRSO provides law enforcement for the entire parish including the City of Baton Rouge. Historically they have focused their patrols and enforcement in unincorporated areas that have no other law enforcement available to them, this includes the area that is now the City of St. George. They will continue to provide the same level of service to the new City unless 1. Additional funding is provided by the City to increase the current staffing level, 2. The City determines they would benefit from a stand alone police department and provides specific funding for such.

Do they? If I have a burglary in BR can I file a report with EBRSO instead of BRPD?
I understand that they have jurisdiction in the entire parish but that’s not necessarily the same thing as actually “providing law enforcement,” as you put it.
