I'm wondering, for the OT law team, does St. George has standing to sue to restore the petition boundaries? BR gobbled up quite a few areas since the original vote.

All of this could have been avoided had they simply let them have their own school district

I’m late on this. Do we get our back taxes that Broome used for HER constituents in HER city because that would be great if we did. 10 years worth of taxes would jump start the shite out of our new city:)

ETA: LSURussian I know this doesn’t set well with you but great things are on the horizon for the folks in STG

AS THE LEADING Latino voice in the St. George community, LET'S frickING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I voted for this shite in 2018 and signed petitions for years. Moved to Arkansas and followed this for a long time knowing that it would eventually happen.

It is why my wife and I purposely moved back to Baton Rouge to live in the St. George area. Hickory Ridge RISE UP mofos.

I am so excited to raise my kids here and not that shite hole BR. I am pumped. I was raised on the West Bank in New Orleans, it became a shite hole and I do not want my kids raised in a similar environment.

ST .GEORGE, LET'S RIDE

I wonder how much this will raise property taxes? I own a few rental properties that fall within the city plan and have had them on government voucher programs. May have to just change that to market-based rent if they go up a lot.

I love the fact that Brett Furr lost this. He’s a piece of shite in my opinion and was for disenfranchising nearly 100,000 people in the parish. That guy should be ran out of town. What a total prick, him and MOP head

We moved out of St. George to Ascension when my son was in 5th grade because it seemed like it would never happen. Now he's in high school at Dutchtown. The move for us was the right choice but I'm still extremely pleased that this is finally happening.

The funny thing about all this is that the St. George movement was completely dead and done, then Broome got elected mayor president and the first thing she did was poke the bear by inexplicably start talking sh!t about St. George, which pissed off the St. George people enough that the movement got restarted and the rest is history. She has to feel like a moron today. If she keeps her mouth shut I bet the St. George movement would have stayed dead.

Very pleased to hear this news today. Although I live in the city of Baton Rouge, it was BS that these folks weren’t being permitted to incorporate. Laughable. Glad their legal rights were upheld. Will be better for EBR in the long run.

So now Baton Rouge will finally have an "authentic" suburb. Even Shreveport has Bossier.

I'll bet Broome is funing! She didn't want this to happen at all. And wasn't that "honor code" clown 100% against it as well.
Good for the believers, who never stopped trying!
