NASA used LEO orbits for initial testing of the Saturn V with unmanned crews, the last being the Apollo 6 mission. Apollo 7 was the first crewed mission, orbiting the earth during comprehensive testing.

NASA estimates 400,000 people worked on the Apollo program in some capacity, ranging from phd scientists at MIT and JPL, to bad arse military test pilots with combat experience and engineering degrees.

To believe that the moon landing was an elaborate hoax, you also have to believe a few underlying, fundamental aspects supporting that hypothesis. Such as...

JFK wasn't serious declaring America would go to the moon, but rather decided for some reason to pull off a sophisticated, complex hoax on the American public, spending billions of dollars in the process that could have been better used elsewhere.

Subsequent presidents with access to the highest levels of classified information, including NASA, continued the scam and hid it from Congress.

Congressional members, many against the Apollo program's expense, were unable to learn NASA had planned and executed the greatest hoax in American history.

Apollo astronauts, some of the most skilled, experienced and risk taking pilots in the military, all agreed to participate in the hoax and lie about their flights in space and to the moon.

The Russians listened to Apollo's voice comms and telemetry data channels, and computed Apollo's space flight locations using the doppler effect. Apollo's fake missions to the moon were also kept secret by the Russians, our mortal enemy at the time.

All of these engineers and scientists at Mission Control were either in on the hoax, or fed an elaborate set of fake data by a similarly sophisticated system located somewhere unknown.



We spent a ton of money to design and build this facility, all in service to an elaborate hoax kept secret for the last 50 plus years.



Finally, you have to believe that after all these years, all of the few thousand high level scientists, engineers, astronauts, and politicians who knew the truth about the hoax, have been able to keep this secret hidden and not speak about it at all.

TLDR: of the few thousand high level presidential, congressional and NASA personnel in on the hoax, none have decided to blow the whistle on the greatest scam in American history.
