Did you watch the video, Rogan even points it why we didn't go back, because there's no program to go back... They're actually ramping it up to do it again now.

In a sense, the moon was the final frontier for us. Everything else is too far away. At least for a long time to come. So we claimed dominance over the Soviets in the space race by touching down on the moon. After that we put our efforts in developing extremely powerful orbiting telescopes and space probes that could travel extreme distances into interstellar space and transmit information. In a way, the moon became boring by comparison.

Until the Artemis program, NASA didn’t have a program to go back. They brought Apollo to an end because the goal was accomplished and everyone was questioning why we would keep spending money to do the same thing. The focus shifted to the Shuttle program and other projects. Now there is renewed interest in the Moon and returning to it, so NASA started a program to accomplish that. It doesn’t just happen overnight, either. When people started ridiculously questioning whether we ever went to the Moon, NASA couldn’t just roll a Saturn V out of the garage and launch a Moon mission to prove those people wrong.
