Wife and I were just talking about that question asked. It's pretty offensive in a way. Why assume they have struggled to get to this point in life?

These are your normal middle class working people from walker. Not a struggling arse family from the hood

The media is so desperate for sob stories they want everyone to be a victim.

I don’t know the Thomas family circumstances, but in that setting I’m sure his parents were completely overwhelmed with emotion and immediately get a mic stuck in their face. I would barely be paying attention to the question she asked.

This is what happens when you try to focus on human interest stories rather than the subject at hand, football. Additionally, many of these reporters have never stepped out of their exceptionally sheltered bubble and seen how the average American lives.
