The saints just suck at drafting in the early rounds.
You NEVER draft out of desperation. You draft the best player available.
Especially pass rushers are always premium.

Except that Turner is from Bama and had the production and wasn't someone from UTSA who couldn't stay healthy

He held up fine against the run and pass in the sec.
I'm a huge jared verse fan
He would fit their prototype and might be better than turner in the nfl.

Had he gone to another school, he probably would not have the backing he had as a top 15 guy. Teams passed on him for a reason.

he's just not big enough to play DE in our scheme. Look at the history on drafting DEs, although not great, but can't play at 250, we drafted Foske LY.
Now if we thought he can play SLB every down and pass rush on pass downs, thats different.
