Looks like they are going to open a Dickie's BBQ in the Arlington Marketplace in the old Crave space. Any of you ever eaten at Dickie's and how is it if you have?

Its ok. Not great. But ok for ‘on the go bbq’.

The one in Metairie on Causeway & Vets has a lunch special for a bbq sandwich, big drink (yellow cup), 2 sides, and all you can eat soft serve ice cream for $11, which is a good deal. Not sure if this is done at all locations.

I like it just fine. Meat is usually good, nothing bad to say. Sides are also good especially the onion strings.
It’s not mind blowing but good for what it is.

There are a ton in DFW and as said, it is ok. If you go off hours it is not good at all but during rush hour times like lunch it's not bad.

If you go on your birthday and sign up for their app you get a free pulled pork sandwich

3.2 out of 5. Good not great. Nothing to get excited over. The menu is what you would expect from a BBQ joint. Nothing stands out but it's not the worst BBQ in Texas.

I like Dickies just fine. If you gauge price vs quality and perceived value, IMO it would rate higher than many of the well-known places, where the prices have gone sky high.

I know many here never consider food cost at all when they eat out. If you are one of those, your opinion likely differs on the value of going to one place vs another.

Not saying that is wrong or bad, Just saying that is close to fact.

added comment - 95% of the time, I get my BBQ from my Pit at home. I like it as much and often more than the best places I have ever eaten. Maybe that puts me in the "doesn't count" opinion group.

edited again: Most of my Dickies experience is buying a bulk order and sharing it with my wife to control carb intake when we were Keto dieting. DOing that, you can buy a half pound and eat it in the truck with no sauce, for almost no carbs. Doing that works great for us.

I buy ribs pretty much the same as pulled pork (NO sauce - boxed to go) I do not buy them at dickies, but from a local gas station that sells them cut and sold as however many bones you want. When I want whole racks, I cook my own and find them superior to restaurant offerings.

There is no appreciable difference between Dickie's and Crave. Basically prison or cafeteria food.

Ate at a Dickies BBQ in Tulsa and one I think it was Houstons airport a couple of times. It's always been good.

I ate at the Metry location once when they first opened and I was like, ehh. For the purpose of science, I ordered a 3 meat and will update later today.

It's very mid. It's ok if you don't have other options

I only go there if I'm out of state traveling for work and want to grab a quick breakfast at DFW or in the middle of nowhere Texas

Is this different from Dickey’s or are people just misspelling it?

The one in Covington is terrible. Last time I ate there the Brisket was dry as cat litter. The Pulled Pork wasn’t much better. The Beans were 75% liquid and maybe 20 beans. They didn’t have any soft drinks. When we asked the lady seemed bothered by us asking. She finally came out and put a bag on the Dr Pepper machine and said “thats all we got”. Her t-shirt by the way had “Eff You” and some weird pictures on it. We had to clean a table off ourselves to sit down and eat. The chair I sat in had a grapefruit sized hole in it down to the foam cushion and was so sticky that it physically lifted up when I sat up.

Other than that it was okay.

It gets a bad rap in DFW but I’ve always liked the sausage sandwich, and the sides are pretty good.

Also the super large sweet tea.

No hot links. No smoked bologna. Not a serious bbq place
