...and it should be ignored. This kind of hyperbole repeated enough is an attempt to drive the conversation in a certain direction. They say it enough, and it becomes "Republicans want to force all teachers to arm themselves!"
It should be corrected, and no one interested in a discussion should take issue with it being pointed out.
