The Biden administration is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine that is expected to be worth around $1 billion, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN, and is set to be approved by President Joe Biden after the Senate passes a new foreign aid funding bill as soon as Tuesday afternoon.

In briefings to Congress in recent weeks, administration officials have indicated that the US will likely send Ukraine long-range ATACMS, or Army Tactical Missile Systems, for the first time as part of the new aid package, three of the sources said.

The package is also expected to include more desperately needed munitions for Ukraine, including air defense and artillery ammunition, Bradley fighting vehicles and demolition weaponry, the sources said.

The text of the legislation passed by the House and set to be approved by the Senate requires the administration to transfer the coveted longer-range ATACMS “as soon as practicable,” unless the president determines that doing so would be detrimental to US national security interests.

The military aid will be sourced from the US’ own stockpiles through a funding mechanism known as presidential drawdown authority, or PDA, and will be the first PDA package for Ukraine since March. It will be significantly larger than that package, however, which was worth only around $300 million that the Pentagon was able to scrounge together from cost savings elsewhere in the department.

Why don't we just declare war on Russia and get it over with?

Because not one American service member has been hurt or killed in this war. Guess you want that to change?

Can’t they take aid out of the 60 billion they are about to get?

How much have we spent to repair the Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore yet? Have we mobilized any federal resources to start the rebuilding process yet? Remember back during WW2 when the Germans blew up the bridges over the Rhine? Within a short period of time we had at least 3 bridges spanning the river to get man and machine across. There isn’t an excuse on this planet that I’ll accept that we should prioritize a country half a globe away over our own. I don’t give a frick what kind of nudes the IC has on Mike Johnson.

I thought it was said that money would be spent to replenish what Biden has taken from us?

Also when will Biden refill the strategic oil reserves he sold to China? And why wasn't Biden removed from office for doing just this? Much less building Iran new Navy Piers with our military?

In the grand scheme of what we're doing with Ukraine, $1 billion isn't much to request an itemized receipt maybe? Let's see what we're actually getting in return, you leftist pieces of shite.

Why would an American Service Member be hurt or killed if we didn’t give them money?

Make it make sense

American arms manufacturers are making bank on this. They are also making bank on foreign sales due to the Ukraine/Russia war.
