re: LSU gymnastics coach Jay Clark, entire staff staying after being pursued by Georgia

I don't understand why we are trying to EAT OUR OWN here. You guys want to get in a argument over DD and Jay. Why can't we agree that the creation of the team of the two back in 2012 was the leading factor in getting LSU where it is today.
DD was a great coach for 43 years and LSU would not be where it is without her. She still continues in her role as an ambassador for LSU leading fundraising and no one loves LSU more than DD.
Jay was an incredible addition to the program and we saw our attendance, recruiting, and success develop greatly after he arrived and the combination of Jay and DD went to work TOGETHER.
NOW, he has taken us to our 1st National Championship, but this success is bases off of the work the 2 of them did together. Along with countless others. Bob Moore, where woukd we be without Bob? Bob coached more National Champions on vault than anyone in history.
ACK(T) Look at the level of floor routines that she brought us to. Under her LSU became the most dynamic floor team in the nation.
The hiring of Garrett and Courtney after Bob and ACK stepped down.
Bringing Bugs back to LSU. Say what you want, but under her the team just set a school and National Finals record on beam to win by near 4 tenths after slightly trailing going into the 4th rotation
ALL of these things have lead us to where we are.
BUT as typical LSU fans we want to fight with each other about who gets the most credit.
I say credit goes to all. There are foundational building blocks that can never be discounted in every successful enterprise. One is no less important than the other.
Now continue to argue or not. I am just happy WE WON, OUR COACHES ARE STAYING, and We are building for the future.

Great post, not sure why someone would downvote this.
But I'm not sure why the other poster would take such big offense for me simply stating that DD never won a championship. I wasn't hating on her, I said in the post she was a great coach, then clarified even further that she was one of the greatest female gym coaches of all time. I was simply stating a fact, that can't be argued
I've been posting about LSU gym on this site for years, I don't think you could look back and find one post about me talking bad about DD. Certainly wasn't trying to turn an LSU gym thread into a typical football Rant thread. I'm still just beyond excited we won and just wanting to give Jay a lot of credit because as short as a year ago, there were plenty of real LSU gym fans that wanted Jay gone/didn't think he'd ever win a championship.

D-D built the trail, Jay followed it to the championship. Being from Georgia would be the only reason he'd go back to UGA, but after what he helped D-D build, and finally winning one, and seeing UGA kick him to the curb when he was head coach before, I don't see why he'd go back there.
