WTH was that last play?

Did he call time out to just tell CJM to play street ball? I've been more patient with Willie G than most of you, but that's absolutely ridiculous. No imagination or creativity whatsoever. I guarantee they don't fire him though, so we can only hope he learns and grows. Dumbass.

I think when he lost the dribble it screwed everything up and they just all panicked

It's been this way all season. This team has to move on from Willie Green and BI this offseason. Pray Zion actually is healthy come playoff time.

Don’t ever let CJ take the last shot.!EVER

I don’t know why every play that gets drawn up it seems it’s always an ISO for someone, never any sort of ball movement

Every pels fan knows this unfortunately.

Down 2 and ball never got inside the 3pt line with 12 seconds on the clock

This is pretty much for every team if you watch basketball
Coaches do it to prevent turnovers and moving screens
Unfortunately our better players have fumble fingers so the ISO’s don’t normally work for us.
As bad as Ingram played and as good as Dort is, we needed to just let Ingram play ISO ball and use his 6-7 inch height advantage. Similar to the play with 2:30 minutes left without him shoulder checking Dort for no reason.

I’m not sure that the play was for CJ to go one on one. But that’s what we got after he lost the ball. Painful

Terrible possession but I thought he hit it. So did CJ.

Based on lack of player movement, looked like call was for CJ to draw a double team and then hit the teammate from where the double team came.
BI and Herb were standing in corners, Trey was at the logo spot from where he's been hot, and Jonas was on the block.
The problem for Willie is that OKC is a professional team and sniffed that out right away and CJ is most unclutch Pelican.

Don't really have a problem with going for the win and trying to steal a road playoff game as Pels likely would not have won in OT.

I was fine with going with the win there but damn that was a horrible play

Cj dribbled off his own foot, pretty sure Coach Green didn't draw it up like that

No play at all, just an iso for CJ to shoot a 3.
There are very very few guys who are trustworthy to do an iso and make the 3 for a game winner. Steph, Luka, KD, Booker, Dame. That's really about it, everyone else should be working off of a play to get an open look.
CJ is not even close to any of the guys that I mentioned.

Seeing where dudes were, what exactly do you think they may have been planning to do if he didn't lose the ball?
It was 1 play, a waste of a lazy screen that never should have happened since everyone except for Willie knew they'd switch, then it was "CJ just do something" after that. That was the entire play.

At this point, it’s just painfully obvious that Willie Green cannot draw up a winning play in crucial moments and is even worse coaching the players to a 4th quarter comeback win.

They ran a really good play out of TO for Herb to get a WIDE open look.
I too wanted them to try and steal the win so didn’t mind a 3 but frick me, how can we not run a set (that we surely have practiced over and over and over again) with multiple screens and actions to get a shooter an open fricking look…
Rather than CJ pounding the ball for 10 seconds, fricking it up then panic scramble.
Mind boggling
