When it's the last shot scenario, who is our worst defender on the court?

The answer is CJ.

Who did SGA hit his shot on to go up 2, then 3 with the FT?

CJ.

Why wasn't Herb guarding him?

B/c they drew up a simple play to get the switch and let their best offensive player go up against our worst defensive player.
It's not rocket science.
Had we made one of the 4 fricking shots we took on the previous possession, then we could have called timeout and gotten the defensive substitution we needed for that last play, or it wouldn't have mattered b/c we would have had the lead at that point.

Now lets go to our last shot.
Who was the worst defender OKC had on the court?
To be honest, they really didn't have one, but they also knew what play was coming and how they were going to defend it. They had the bigger J Williams on CJ to start and the smaller Casen Wallace on Trey, knowing that pick was coming so they could switch it and have Wallace on CJ.

If you'd told me that CJ shot was what we would get to win the game before it started, I'd like our chances. If he misses softly, JV gets the tap in b/c he moved Chet's ozempic's arse clear out of the way to get any close offensive rebound on that shot.

While i love JV and what he can do in this series, if you're not going to give him the ball on that last possession, then there's no point in him being out there. I would have rather Naji, or it really should have been Hawkins.
We should have had a dribble handoff for BI with him attacking the rim full speed, with CJ, Trey, Herb and Hawkins all positioned for an open 3. Whoever Chet was guarding go to the corner where the play is to be run so that you get him to leave his man when BI gets in the lane and we get a wide open 3 in the corner, or if they rotate quick enough then it's wide open on the wing. And if Chet dosnt' help soon enough BI gets a shot at the rim. Not a fadeaway, a shot at the rim. And the play is designed so Dort isn't riding on his back to the goal like he did all game. Set a good pick on him.

Instead we were playing for the win the whole time, had no real play drawn up and if CJ doesn't lose the ball, the final shot was going to be a step back 3 anyway, which wouldn't have been much better than the shot he actually took.
The play we actually ran, was the same play we ran the possession before when CJ forced the issue on getting penetration. The actual last possession CJ had no intention of taking a 2.

You're right.

I'm attacking the rim with trey and cj at the 3 point line.
I'd put naji in too
