Nagasaki was a weird target even if it was a secondary target. Nagasaki had the highest Catholic population in Japan and the largest POW camp.

Oh yea… forgot that………………………..never mind.

I’ll go ahead and disagree with him there. Also should have demolished China with them when we had the chance during the Korean War.

Hard to believe that with all we now know, some still think the US had to drop the bomb(s) to get Japan to capitulate.

Truman made the decision that needed to be made at the time. You don’t get 10 years to think it over or gather additional data.

Imagine thinking Japan was justified because the US provoked them into attacking us.

imagine thinking an militaristic empire that has annexed large territories of Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia wouldn't launch an attack.

there were multiple intelligence warnings before the attack even happened. not like the US was totally in the dark about it. they just thought the Japs were bluffing and its military was spread too thin to actually launch an attack on the Pacific Fleet. let alone at Pearl Harbor.

"Their emperor...." was not in charge of the govt. The hard core military criminals were & they were sending out armed soldiers to track him down, to control him.

Tucker not wanting atomic bombs dropped on civilians means he loves putin? The world gets dumber by the day. How have you made it this far in life without winning a Darwin award?

I haven't watched the full interview. Was Tucker's main contention that the use of the atomic bomb was evil because it was dropped on civilians? Is he saying that it would have been morally justified if it had only been dropped on a military base or target? Did Japan have military bases or targets that were completely separate from their cities and civilian life?

Tucker is often mentioned as a possible political candidate, he's even been mentioned as a potential VP for Trump. Would Tucker not use atomic bombs under any circumstances? Mutually assured destruction is a deterrent, doesn't really work if someone is on the books saying that they'll never use their most powerful weapons under any circumstances. Our destruction is assured, but we might not destroy you back? It invites trouble, you could guarantee that our enemies would test that moral stance in a war.

Tucker is usually so spot on / dead on that it's very rare for him to have a take that I'm not sure I agree with him about. War is hell, it's kind of kill or be killed. Let's say Japan also had the atomic bomb, do we think that they would have hesitated to use it on us? Would they have used it on Pearl Harbor? And would they only have used it on our military targets? Or would they also have used it on our cities? What kind of enemy we're dealing with has to be taken into consideration, they might not be as moral about it.

Tucker Carlson doesn't believe in what Tucker Carlson says. Anyone who is still buying what he is selling I have a mound of gold under the outhouse at camp I'll sell you. Dude is a spoiled little whiny brat, a charlatan a fruitcake. If you are so blindsided by politics that you've fallen for this guy you need to take a step back. No adult should be stupid enough for this guy to be relevant anymore. Thanks "conservatives" , and "MAGA" You are making America dumb as the test scores in southern states show. This is a foolish statement by a guy who knows nothing about anything but duping brain dead "Republicans" out of their time and money. Jesus

What they should have done was drop flyers over Nagsaki and Hiroshima saying "Y'all should probably maybe leave the city" a couple days prior.

It's not as white and black as one would think...it is bad to drop nukes on civilians...

The US could've slapped a naval target near a major city with it and may have got a similar reaction

What are you even talking about? Objectively, it's illegal to hit civilian targets. Tucker is technically, legally and morally correct.
Making those strikes in lieu of a different target or just exhibiting the force is criminal. Would I have done it? Probably so, wrapped in vengeance? Yeah maybe.

The world was in TOTAL war. This is a very dishonest argument for the sake of argument, or an extremely, lazy, unintelligent, ignorant, and flat earther like take. .

If you think Tucker is a serious person probably the latter. What am I saying, both.

So what's your take on russia and civilian targets? They have killed more than one of those bombs.

There was another option they never tell you about.

They could have dropped the bombs insight of the cities to show the power we had.

If they still didn’t surrender, I don’t know, drop it on military bases, not civilian cities.

He’s dead wrong. Dropping the A-bombs on Japan was the right move. It probably saved lives and it definitely saved a thousands of American lives.

They didn't surrender after the first one. When you have a thought. Think to yourself, has anyone else had this thought? And since my(your) IQ is obviously, .. never mind. Well just feel safe and secure in your place in the world's strongest nation you Precious Thing, that you don't have to make decisions that require guts, balls, and intelligence.

What the hell happened to yall? Bunch of un-American fruit cakes.
