I’m reading mixed reviews online about pound test, fluoro, mono, braided, with leader, without leader, etc….. Never been and clueless. Seems the majority uses 4-6 pound test. Any suggestions of the setup? And maybe lure suggestions?
4 pound line and UL spinning gear. Mono. Size 1 "Gold Regular" Panther Martin (black body, gold blade, yellow dots, 1/32 oz). You will wear them out on ANY trout water anywhere on the planet.
One word of caution about Colorado trout fishing....they are deadly serious about private land...deadly. They do some stupid shite like stringing barbed wire across rivers. There is ample public are to fish the problem is it is intermingled with private land and often times hard to distinguish which is which, especially when they are prone to posting public land to make it look like private land. In my experience local fly shops are very little help because they have access to the private stretches and are protecting their own interests. It is very frustrating, in my experience. The further you get from Denver the less problems you will have. Most of the public water is fished hard and the access and banks are pretty trashy...Colorado in general is about like New Mexico and west Texas when it comes to migrating wal-mart bags....
