I highly doubt trump would just rollover and say ok.

I’m not saying run, I’m saying we tell them that we will begin an orderly withdrawal on our own timetable and we’re not going to tolerate a forceful removal.

If they object, then we can fight about that. We shouldn’t be fighting to stay.

You’re saying that it would be better to fight them over how the US military is leaving? What kind of nonsense is that?

You mean like exactly what is happening?

it's weird that you sound upset and talking about fighting them when what you say you want to happen is what they announced is happening.
quote:

“We’ve agreed to begin conversations within days about how to develop a plan” to withdraw troops, said the senior State Department official. “They’ve agreed that we do it in an orderly and responsible way. And we will need to probably dispatch folks to Niamey to sit down and hash it out. And that of course will be a Defense Department project.”

I’m saying if they continue to prevent supplies to troops and prevent troops from leaving, then yeah, that’s a hostile act.

What doesn’t make sense about refusing to get marched out of our own military facility at gunpoint?

I’ve said repeatedly that we need to leave and nothing in Niger is worth fighting over.

Perhaps read the context of the conversation you’re replying to.

Here's the thing. Will Russia and China start to increase their influence with the withdraws of France and the US? Sure. But guess what, over time those countries will face the same challenges and end up with a headache that outweighs any reward.

Get out. Hold all African funding. Let them starve. Use the billions of African funding/aid for US infrastructure. Immediately.

It doesn’t seem like we had a ton of influence considering the fact that a military coup happened while we were there.

Agreed. Countries like this are inherently unstable. It’s simply not worth our trouble and probably not theirs either.

How did we already use up all of our goodwill from “We are the World” aka USA for Africa?

Song was an absolute banger.

We just sent 60 billion to Ukraine to fight Russia and you think China is behind this?
