There’s a proven method. New York was a shite hole and turned it around but apparently they weren’t very thankful.

No no no. Yes, our government is shite with the way it manages money. But NO, lack of money is NOT the reason all our cities are becoming shitholes. The reason all our cities are becoming filthy shitholes is that they’re full of disgusting useless parasitic people. It doesn’t take trillions of dollars to keep a city clean and livable. It takes decent people.

Assuming the bill discussed today is added, the combined amount of support for Ukraine is not even a fifth of what the infrastructure bill a few years back, even after you take out the pork. Assume you didn’t have an issue there, right?

I don’t understand the point you’re making.

West Philadelphia, born and raised. I was one of the guys that made trouble in the neighborhood. One guy I got into a fight with ended up having his rich aunt move him to Bel Air California.

I think I met that guy when I was a cabbie in Los Angeles. He whistled and I accepted the fare. At the time my cab had a license plate that read "FRESH" and I had some of those fuzzy dice hanging from my rearview mirror.

Anyways, the guys says my cab is "rare" and then says, "Yo, homes, to Bel Air!"

We pulled up to this nice mansion at about 7 or 8 pm. The guy pays his fare, and then says, "Yo, homes, smell ya later!"

I'll never forget that guy.

Yeah. Our gov sending billions to foreign countries and housing and supporting illegals vs investing in American communities. The House just approved billions more to Ukraine. Even in the crap cities, maybe investing in community centers, skate board parks, and other recreational things for kids and teens to do might help some. Some. Trash will be trash, but it could help some. And other stuff like someone already suggested

Holy shite. I think you've solved it. If we throw MORE money at it (on top of the billions we've already spent) then all the injustices will be solved and all will be good. Right? RIGHT???

One of, if not the best post WWII presidents is Eisenhower. He invested in infrastructure. That was in the 1950s. Its time for an upgrade.

But infrastructure isn't a hot topic issue that divides people. And one party isn't going to allow the other party to do something that can greatly improve things within this country because they don't want to give each other something they can take credit for.

While people are arguing about abortion and gun laws, shite that in the long run doesn't matter, America is slowly crumbling. Las Vegas is the only city that keeps upgrading, but that's their business. That's what keeps people coming into their city.

A lot of these projects will be more for show. The US need trains through the whole country like the trains in Europe. The interstate wasn't built for todays traffic.

We also need stronger law enforcement in cities, but in today's world with everyone having a camera its hard for them to be aggressive towards those who they need to be aggressive towards. Put money into police departments to attract better police. Do something about the homeless. Education plays a big factor in all of this, but there is no interest in educating people. They don't want too many people to think for themselves.

Around 10x the money already given to the Ukraine was already assigned years ago to domestic infrastructure.

The claim is that current amount given could have done wonders domestically.

Where are the wonders?

Even with typical government inefficiency, you’d think at 10x the amount you’d see something.

Correct. In my zip code it's 20k / acre and parcel sizes are at 10 acres minimal per zoning. Keeps out the riff raff.

Have a nice day.

Dumbest thing ever.

Usually parroted by those that have zero understanding of what rail based infrastructure requires.

Other than some cities on the east coast, which are in fact already served by the Northeast Corridor, our population centers are too far apart, while also being sprawling metro areas, to be efficiently served by rail.

Yet, there and everywhere else those children were miraculously magic-wanded 2 grade levels as if they were cattle.

But, why should we expect those same people who would annihilate a defenseless child in the womb as a matter of inconvenience. To defend their own children’s financial, psychological, and educational future as a matter of inconvenience as well?

Ukraine needs our money.

Funding an unwinnable war is more important than these piddling Americans cities you speak of.

It’s hard for human evolution to evolve when we reward a certain demographic for pumping out mentally deficient offspring. Kind of defeats Darwin

I live in rural Oregon but I’ve certainly laughed at cable news putting all the focus on Portland when frankly I don’t see Portland anymore different than most major metropolitan areas.

Sure it’s got fricked aspects but the last couple times I went into the city it was still 10x safer than any Louisiana city or any major city for that matter. It’s all going to shite
