A constitutional convention is overdue for the state. However, I’m far from convinced that the current proposal is in the best interests of the state. It is rushed and is forcing everyone to activate crisis mode. It should be a deliberate process and the voters should have a say in their representation. It is conceivable that legislators may not be who people want representing them during a constitutional convention.
As for public records- there are very few situations where records of public offices and agencies should be held private and then only for a limited time. While it has become a cliche the old slogan is true: “democracy dies in darkness.”
