How the heck to you get hit above the wrist by a swing?

Apparently this is a trend across MLB to enhance pitch framing. Catcher’s interference calls are on the rise.

The Cardinals thought they could "fix" Contreras's defensive issues, which outside of a strong arm, were and are many and significant and well chronicled.

So they paid him more than anyone else would and still have not fixed them, and now one of their solutions may have ended up hurting him.

He'll always give you when the year is done if not hurt - 15-20 homers, and hit about .250 or so which for a catcher is in the top 5 or 6 in the game. But inevitably he ends up DH'ing and even playing some other positions more and more because the defensive deficiencies are not fabricated, they are real and at this point in his career if they have not gotten fixed yet, you wonder if they ever will.
