To his credit I don't think he really moved. The left and right have just moved more left and right. I've disagreed with Maher more often than not but the motherfricker is consistent, I gotta give him that.

I think a big part of this is the far Left has gone even farther Left and Maher has stayed the same.
It’s like James Carville’s rant a few weeks ago about not even wanting to interact with young Leftist females because they’ve gone so far beyond what he thinks a Progressive should be.
Same could be said of the Right, I suppose, but we’re talking about Maher here.

Maher hasn't moved to the center. The left has moved further left. We're living in a time where the old school hippies are now the center because the right is the same as it ever was, but the left has finally admitted it's Marxist.

I've been watching him since his show on ABC in the late 90s, he's always been very rational. The left has moved so far left his mainstream and rational opinions now seem conservative.
