They had a tree on the walking trail along the bayou on West Main Street in Gonzales

Tree used to be loaded with them. It's on city property so nobody can tell you anything

I'd like to know whats the most northern parish you've consistently found loquats in? I would guess southern Rapides?

Can’t help you with the trees other than to say you can google them and you’ll find many sources. I have yet to find any that will fruit in my zone in Arkansas.

When I was a kid in California, neighbor had a loquat tree that produced what had to be thousands every year. Best. Fruit. Ever. I used to eat them and nearly nothing else for weeks. Good luck in your hunt.

BTW, offer still stands for anyone. I have many loquat seedlings free to a good owner, in Hammond

How well do they grow and fruit here?

I'm from Pitt and have a tree in my backyard and don't eat them. You can come get as many as you want from the tree or I can pre-pick a box for you and leave them out on my front porch for you, just let me know. #yinzer

I read that in colder climates the fruit will not ripen fully fwiw.

My nextdoor neighbor's tree is loaded. We planted 2 last year and have already eaten all they produced (not a lot), so I've been coveting my neighbor's wife's loquats.

Came upon a tree in an empty lot while working. Had small orange fruits and long serrated dark green leaves.

Obviously no one had been harvesting them so I decided to try one that was still good. Then another. Then another.

Found out they were loquats.

I see why you want some
