Here's one: I have a number of squatted Gmail addresses that are very high profile (actors/athletes/etc)
Let's say I had honeybadger@gmail.com
From time to time, I will get emails that really do seem like they are from Gmail (noreply@google.com) entitled "Google Verification Code".
So, what gives? I just don't understand what the scam is. If it's someone that successfully stole my password but then got stuck at MFA, why doesn't the Gmail address match?
And if it's a fake email...to what end? They are not asking me to send them anything.
I've gotten these sporadically for years. TIA

We received a request to access your Google Account honeybadger123@gmail.com through your email address. Your Google verification code is: xxxxxx
