Exactly but Willie won’t. He will have Larry in by the 7 minute mark in the 1st and AD will eat him alive again.

The lakers scheme against Zion is simple. Its lebron out front and AD got his back. It’s why he struggles so much. The pels really don’t have a counter. The only thing I can think of is you go small and put Zion at the 5. Problem is you give up a ton of size and rebounding. JV is too slow and clogs lane eveb more. Nance is too small and nonthreat offensively.

I really fricking hope Zion sends a message early and plows through LeBron’s chest after he’s been stationary in the paint for 10 seconds. I don’t care if he picks up an early foul, if he wants to take the charge let him take it

Zion hasn't figured out yet that when he charges someone full speed, they can't guard him.
If Lebron wants to stay 10' off of him with the ball, then dribble right at the fricker. No one standing still can gaurd someone running at them.
Every single time, Zion doesn't know what to do then slowly backs his way down until he's posting up with his back to the basket. frick that. Just go straight at him. His pussy arse isnt' taking a charge.

Zion looks like a kid out there that's scared. Stop going in for layups where you jump away from the contact. Use your big arse body and move AD"s glass arse out of the way and finish through him. Trying to finesse a layup falling away to avoid contact and not getting blocked is what a 10 year old does. Zion's never had to use his body to shield the ball from the defender in his life, and it shows.

Bleacher Report article on Giannis/Simmons/Draymond attacking sagging defenses

quote:

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets tried something similar against Simmons, dropping his defender into the paint, where he'd wait for Simmons to make a move. It didn't go great. In the play below, Jared Dudley sags way off Simmons, who gathers a head of steam, charges toward the rim and finishes.

quote:

"I'm giving him a tad bit of space, and then I guard him like anybody else," Morris said. Boston aimed to keep Giannis out of the paint. He attempted 10.7 shots in the restricted area during the regular season, tops in the league, and converted 73.7 percent of them. "I'm not trying to make him too comfortable where he can run at you," Morris continued. "I think that's his biggest thing—when he can get that full head of steam. I'm trying to take that away from him."

The other thing that we never do that needs to be imployed more is giving Zion the ball at the top of the key. If his defender wants to play off of him and stay in the paint, then fine. Let Zion set picks with the ball much like Sabonis does with Fox and Huerter. Huerter scores almost all of his points this way with Sabonis. If Zion's defender is no where to be found and Zion sets a good pick as CJ or Trey run by him and get the handoff, then they are shooting wide open 3's. And if the defender notices it and steps up to challenge the 3, then Zion slips behind him and he's wide open on the cut, something Draymond Green and the Warriors do all the time.
You can do the same with BI and let him penetrate more and make Zion's defender choose to stop him from taking a wide open pull up jumper at the FT line, or stay with Zion as he rolls to the goal for an alleyoop, and if someone helps on the alley oop, then we have a wide open corner 3.
BI shoots 53% on pull up mid range jumpers, and i'd bet that number is even higher when that shot is just below the FT line.

I'll remind everyone again that Zion set 24 picks all year where he rolled to the goal, so everything i just said sounds foreign to most of you b/c you've never seen us run anythign like it for whatever stupid arse reason.
