Lakers to the finals.

They have lost 8 in a row to the Nuggets, haven't actually had a win against Denver since 2022.

The last two losses to the Nuggets were at home, Denver was missing KCP for both, and one was the night of the Kobe statue reveal and the other was the night Lebron hit 40K points so two event nights.

Terrible first round matchup for them.

You may be right about the match up.

Whats funny is people don’t give OKC any chance yet say the West is the hardest conference and this year was loaded with great teams. And OKC finished 1st. But yet they have no chance. Makes no sense.

I have Denver/OKC playing Boston with Boston winning it all.

Something else, this shows how deep the franchise is, their G League team won the title last night vs Boston G league team.

NBA G League
@nbagleague

CHAMPS!

For the first time in team history, the @okcblue are your G League champions, winning two straight games against the Maine Celtics in the #NBAGLeagueFinals presented by @YouTubeTV to take home the title in Game 3!

And here’s interview with SGA from 1.5 years ago (Sep 22):

Andrew Schlecht
@AndrewKSchlecht
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the speculation that he would want out of Oklahoma City

"I know what I signed up for when I signed a 5 year extension... and I don't think we're gonna be losing for much longer."

"I believe in this team"

It's because they have zero experience. It would be unprecedented for team as young as they are to go on a deep run. Even the all time greats and dynasties like Lebron, the Steph/Klay Warriors, even MJ, had to take a few beatings in the playoffs before breaking through. Playoffs are a different beast than the grind of a regular season.

Totally agree. I’m talking those who give them no chance to win even one round. It will be hard for them to win the west but one or two rounds is very doable. And be competitive in 3rd round.

I think they have a great coach. Way better than Scotty Brooks and Billy Donovan. Billy left because he stated he didn’t want to be part of a rebuild. Well, look where OKC is compared to where Billy is.

Young legs can wear out the vet legs. If they stay composed when down. But they have ao many comebacks this year too, so have confidence. And the way coach has done rotations has been great, keeping great start overlap.

Some OKC stats for those who didn’t watch them this year:

Stats by

Nick Gallo
@NickAGallo

X stats LINK

ou've seen the headline stat of the season for the @okcthunder: They're the youngest team ever to get the #1 seed in the NBA playoffs.

Here's a thread of some other standout team and individual stats from the year:

The Thunder finished:
2nd in Net Rating: +7.3
3rd in Offensive Rating: 118.3
4th in Defensive Rating 111.0

1st in 3P%: 38.9%
1st in steals: 8.5
1st in blocks: 6.6
1st in Turnovers Forced: 15.7
1st in Contested FG: 47.4
1st in Points off Turnovers: 20.5

1st in Bench 3P%: 40.3%

The Thunder led the league in double-digit comeback victories with 17, matching last year's total for 34 over the past two years.

OKC was 24-14 in clutch games and 3-1 in overtime.

The Thunder scored over 100 in 79 of 82 games and also generated 20+ assists in 79 of 82 games this year.

OKC shot over 50% from the field and 40% from 3 in the same game 31 times, the 2nd most all time for an NBA team.

OKC had 61 games this season with 5+ stl and 5+ blk

Shai is 3rd player to average 30+ pts on 50% shooting with 2+ stls per game. The other two were Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry.

Shai scored 30+ in 51 games (3rd most ever) and was 1st this year with 69 gm of 20+ pts

1st in drives again.

Created 1,175 points via assist.

Shai finished tied for 1st in steals, 1st in points off turnovers

He was 3rd in total deflections and 3rd in contested 3-pointers per game.

8 different Thunder players shot better than 37 percent from three this season.

3 different Thunder players (Shai, Jalen Williams and Aaron Wiggins) ranked in the top 10 in percentage on jumpers.

OKC got 5 different players into double figures in 51 of the 82 games this year.

Chet Holmgren and Cason Wallace played all 82 games as rookies.

Chet shot 38% on above the break 3s, 77% at the rim and had great balance with 51% of his points coming in the paint.

He finished 3rd in the NBA in stocks (steals+blocks)

Wallace shot 42% from 3 (2nd rookies)

Jalen Williams finished 9th in 3-point percentage on the season at 43%.

In clutch situations he shot 68% from the field.

He was 1 of 4 players to have 50%/40%/80% shooting splits this year

Lu Dort had the best, most efficient season of his career, shooting 39% from three. He hit a career-high 156 this year, including at least 1 in 67 of 79 games.

He also shot 61% at the rim (he was at 52% last year)

He drew 56 offensive fouls this year, fighting around screens

Josh Giddey registered 10 double-doubles, and 3 triple-doubles (8th most in the NBA).

He had 21 games of 10-5-5 and generated 915 points by assist.

In March, he averaged 16.3 points on 57% FG and 42% from three.

Isaiah Joe shot 44% on catch and shoot threes this year, drew 19 charges and had the nastiest poster dunk of the season.

Jaylin Williams drew 19 charges too, and got 60 percent of his points from behind the arc even at 6-foot-10.

Gordon Hayward has shot 51.7% from 3 for the Thunder since coming over in the trade.

Kenrich Williams shot 41% from the corners and was top 20 in assist to turnover ratio.

Ousmane Dieng just won the G League Finals MVP with 25 points on 6 made threes in the clinching Game 3

There are probably a ton more stats that I've missed, but this was an incredible regular season for the Thunder.

NBA is rigged. Both GS and Lakers going to playoffs. Boston probably beats Denver in NBA Finals.

True, but I would not discount them based solely on experience. Its a really good team and well coached.

Nuggets will be repeating. That's my prediction. When that team is healthy and playing with their classic lineup, they usually win. They're still in the midst of their play making prowess.

I would watch that match up but I seriously doubt Clippers get too far. If they did, Celtics in 4 or 5.

No surprise here.

No playoffs and warriors gets drummed in the curry minutes.

Curry has missed the playoffs 6x in 15 year career.
Pretty mediocre floor raiser. Of course give him 2-3 guys who are playing like HOFers and watch out.
