I have 7 and 8 to watch. I’ve gotten half way through 7 twice and kept getting interrupted. At the latest I’ll have them done before lunch tomorrow.

Make that 8 and 9 (I think)

So i got caught up and accidentally started S2. Forgot how seamless the ending of S1 slides into S2E1. Watched whole first episode before realizing it was S2.

O dang, for some reason I thought there was 9. Will definitely be able to finish.

We really didn't talk enough about the preacher giving Mrs. Barlow the best 10 seconds of her life.

Ok this had me confused. 8 was the one I kept getting interrupted on. Restarted today and finished it.

Really tough to not start S2E1

I'm actually starting to take a few notes during each episode now so I can have a little bit more to talk about with each episode. I can't depend on my terrible memory.

I should do this as well, my memory is terrible

Cool. I am at a hotel and watched 7 and 8 tonight but I’ll keep it to 6.

Again, I’m reminded why I didn’t watch this after the first few episodes. 5 and 6 do set up a lot of what is to come and alliances are set. Randall does become such a great character after the leg amputation.

7 does give you a hint of Flint’s motivation but you still think he’s a bit cavalier with his crew’s life up to that point.

Yep, not a bad idea, it’s my first watch and my wife and I are really enjoying it. She’s really cool and we like most of the same things but wasn’t sure if she’d be into a “Pirate” show but she’s all in.

Pretty sure that was the best ten seconds of HIS life.

I assume she’s had far better lovers than the preacher.

By the way, thanks for starting this thread. I just discovered it today and just started watching the show on Netflix a week ago. Interesting to read the thread as I make my way through the episodes.

S1E7

The whole "I missed a hell of a day" scene was great.

Awesome conversations between Flint and Gates as usual. And Gates continues to show his loyalty by still riding with Flint despite not being confident at all that he won't completely frick over him and the crew if given the chance.

I love how Randall was going on about Silver stealing the page. "You're a thief." Hey, Randall, you're pirates. You're all thieves, dumbass.

I love how fast Dufresne went from scared accountant to kind of a badass. I guess going into your first battle and ripping throats with your teeth changes a man.

And Dufresne is already making plans to kill Flint once they have the Urca. Pretty ballsy.

Good Lord, Albinus is a gigantic man. I do wonder why Vane has never gone back there before and tried to free the slaves. Yes, I realize this works for the story, but it seems like he harbors some pretty ill will toward Albinus and that island, you'd think he'd have done this years ago (even if just to build a stronger crew).

Vane digging himself up and killing Albinus is cool and all, but he's been buried for the better part of a day. He should've died HOURS ago.

Thanks for showing us Van'e penis, Starz. Preciate it.

S1E8

It's incredible how hot every single whore on the show is. It seems grossly inaccurate historically, but I appreciate the artistic freedoms taken here.

Anne Bonny snapping at Rackham for cutting the dead weight of that old whore who was stealing half their money. She's an idiot.

Man, every scene with Flint and Gates is top notch. I hate that we lose Gates so early in the series. I get why Flint did it, but man talk about the worst way to prove to your crew that you're loyal to them....by killing your quartermaster and one of your best friends and closest confidants. RIP, Gates. What an awesome character.

Dufresne showing his incompetence of timing when he pulls the pistol on Flint as soon as it's time to shoot. He just cost a lot of his friends their lives. Good job, asshat.

I absolutely love all of the maritime warfare. It's just cool as shite to see some of the strategies they used and how war worked back then.

Holy shite, that Spanish ship with the 100 guns is like a fricking machine gun.

I had forgotten just how integral Silver is to everything. He seems like the catalyst that moves things forward time and time again.

S1 is ramping up toward the end with shite going down both on land and at sea. Not sure what Vane's motivation is for taking the fort. Seems like he could fairly easily be overpowered, but I guess the throwaway line about the tunnels clues us in as to why that can't/won't happen. But they could easily cut off supplies and Vane is vastly outnumbered. And he's also just waltzing around the island like it's no big deal.

So now Dufresne is an actual badass? He's come a long way in only a few episodes.

I forgot how awesomely S1 ends with them finding the Urca and her gold spilled all over the beach.

Goodbye to season one and all of the softcore porn. IIRC, that dies down a good bit as things progress. Sad.

This really is a great show. I don't remember why i stopped halfway through season 2. But, I picked up again and finished it. a lot of shows are great in the beginning and fade. I think this one is the opposite.
