I am sure someone will correct me but other than the second half of last year Travinski was always feast or famine?

That this is what we are getting from a graduate guy that CJJ hoped would be a team leader speaks volumes. It points to CJJ losing this lockerroom at some point.

You just can't have a guy that's supposed to be a leader loafing around the bases and going through the motions.

He really does. And, after not hustling into 2nd on a close play choosing instead to slow down and go into the base standing, he decided to pose on a HR.

I never would have thought he'd be an attitude issue.

Do you think Jay goes crazy in the portal and flips over most of this lineup?

He has no choice.

You lose White, Travinksi, Milazzo, and Bingham.

This recruiting class is outstanding and if he gets lucky there's a couple of bats that would become day one starters...who knows maybe he can actually promise them playing time and an NIL deal without it being a lie.

Do you think Yeskie and other assistants may be let go?

The pitching staff has been a disappointment as well but I think there's much more to work with and have shown flashes. It's almost like every guy they go to has a shut down performance and then the next time blows up and so they don't know who to trust...there's also been very limited times where LSU has had a lead...it's been a very unusual first half of conference play.

I can safely say that at this point we don't have to worry about Kling and Guidry in the draft.

I think you are correct here unless some never-before-seen miraculous turnaround happens. Don't hold your breath. I think Kling could be good enough and get there quickly but I think he may need an entire offseason to get his head right.

Guidry needs another pitch or for the two he has to be much better. I also wonder if that may be a head rather than a physical issue.

Jones has so much raw power that a team will take a chance on him thinking they can coach up his hitting. His defense is not elite but it is much better than I was expecting.

I took those off the SEC only games this morning, I apologize if I miss labeled them.

It is easy to do, the way they label the stats is awkward at best. I have made the same mistake myself.

It's a PDF on the SEC site and has both all games and SEC Only games in the same PDF.

All games team hitting rankings pages 2 & 3

SEC Only games team hitting rankings pages 23 & 24

For those who want to know where to find them.

It was evident during fall and spring practice that this team was going to struggle to manufacture runs at times with their lack of speed and high k rates so the group below needed to get on base with some sort of consistency.

situational hitting with RISP appears to be our achilles heel this season. we are 2023 SD Padres of the SEC.
