Dude, if you couldn't find bread for $6-$7 on Maui you didn't look very hard at al.

Yes, anything imported to the islands will be more expensive than back on the mainland but it's not very difficult to find bread well under $10

There is a target right by the airport and with a very quick search I found plenty of options
